How Shark Valley gets its water

Rain fills up the glades ...

But it also depends on flows from upstream.

Can you see
the structure?

How about now?

In the case of the famed Shark Valley Tram,

That's from the S-12B.

As seen looking west Big Cypress Nat'l Preserve.

Can you see the rain clouds building up?

A fitting view considering the Big Cypress's (long held, but slightly misplaced) reputation as a rain-fed swamp that doesn't rely on gates, but it too depends on upstream flows.

Stewardship of the swamp and its water go hand in hand.
