By that I mean we were in deep drought (i.e. red) mode,
During which the water table dropped a good 1-3 feet below the center of the cypress domes.
Or in other words, the swamp was tinderbox dry.
This year, by comparison, the natural fire breaks are still moist (i.e. yellow).
