Fake dry season

Yes, it hasn't rained (significantly) in weeks,

But that doesn't mean its dry out there yet.

Here' s a history of November rain totals for Big Cypress National Preserve, from 1990 to present

In terms of the water table height, November is comparable to June and usually June is pretty wet.

I think the Nov total needs to be taken into consideration WOTH the October total. By itself, a Nov drought may look demure, but when it followed a wimpy Oct and the grasses are CRUNCHY and THICK in the cypress now, we're looking at the beginning of a problem.
