Dry season off to an early start

November marks the first "official month" of the dry season,

But according to the calendar chart below, our dry season is already a month old.

This calendar chart reports daily rainfall for south Florida, 1992-present.  Black rain drops show when major deluges occurred and orange dots show days when there was no rain at all.

It's now been a month since it's last rained.

For the month (see below) we totaled 3 inches.

Rainy Octobers can extend the wet season,

But dry ones can have the opposite effect.


As a result the dry season is off to an early start.
