Six Weeks at No.1 (on Top 25 Chart)

The swamp has spent the past six weeks ...

At a new 25-year winter high-water mark.

This hydrograph shows the current water level in the swamp compared to ecological thresholds and historical stats.  The dotted white line is the long-term median.  Can you see the "sharper angle" it drops starting mid March.  That's increasing ET at work.

What's interesting is that it hasn't rained over much of that span.

But who needs rain when evapotranspiration (ET) is shut off?

The swamp is still summer wet as of mid March

Water just sort of "sits" around as a result.

Look for that to change now that spring has begun.

Unless we get another big ran.
