Everglades's Big Lake(s)

One of my biggest surprises when I came to south Florida,

Was that you could drive by Lake O and not even know it was there.

This hydrograph shows water
stage and water depth just
north of Tamiami Trail

That's because the big levee blocks the view.

It's just the opposite in the Everglades's WCA3A.

Airboating north in vicinity
of the Site 65 hydrostation
The levee gives you a great view.

It's also what's blocking the water to make it look like a big lake.
