Swamp sets new "high water" mark

Not only has it been a wet winter,

The swamp has now exceeded last summer's high-water mark.

Current water stage in the swamp
is over 12 inches above the long-term
February norm (1993-2015)

Not only that:

It's even eclipsed the previous flood-of-record Winter 1995 mark.

This calendar graph shows a history of surface water flooding in Big Cypress Nat'l Preserve.  Winter water levels are shaping up
to match (or exceed) El Niño's past

Not sure if the duration will be the same.

All we can do is wait and watch.
