Headwaters rise

The Kissimmee River had been trending down.

Since the start of the new year it's significantly reversed course.

This chart shows the rise and fall
of Kissimmee River flow into Lake Okeechobee
over the past few years

Usually the Kissimmee River discharges around 300 cfs into Lake Okeechobee in early January.  Suddenly its an order of magnitude higher, around three thousand cubic feet. Not off the chart ...

But that's a big jump.
