"When a little goes a long way"

November is usually considered dry season,

But this year it's even wetter than June.

This bar chart displays a November rainfall (in inches)
from 1990 to present for Big Cypress Nat'l Preserve

What's behind this strange reversal of seasons?

Answer: With daylight hours down (and both evaporation and plant transpiration taking some time off), all it takes is a little bit of rain to keep swamp levels up.

This year's November rainfall tally was over three inches.

That was more than enough.
