Swamped in September

Water levels usually peak in September.

That's almost guaranteed when its also the rainiest month.

This calendar chart shows monthly rainfall
in Big Cypress National Preserve from 1980 to present

Monthly rainfall, as averaged throughout Big Cypress Nat'l Preserve, topped ten inches for the first time since July 2013 and before that in August 2010.

In other words, it was the third rainiest month in seven years.

Still it's been a long time since we had a really really rainy month.

They are shown on the chart as the black dots.
