This chart compares variations in the El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO) index with winter rain in south Florida from 1950 to present. As shown, swings into a high El Niño signal usually coincide with wetter-than-normal south Florida rains. Drops into La Niña are the opposite for south Florida, usually corresponding with drought. |
Last time we had one of those we got
20 inches of dry season rain.

Could mean a
colder than normal winter, too.
