"Did S-12s get stuck?"

This is no stuck gate ...

But it could be the summer the S-12s don't flow.

This hydrograph reports discharge through the S-12 flow structures from 2012 to present.  The blue line indicates the discharge rate over that time period relative to the statistical and ecological framework color coded in back.  The white line is the long term average from 1993 to present.  The red dots show discharge rates in late August for this year and the three previous years.  As you can see, this year is an under-performing outlier to the extreme.

The problem isn't mechanical ...

At this point the only fix is a meteorological lucky break.

South Florida averages 9 inches of rain in September.  We'll need it!
