As long as the low spots stay wet it can battle off drought.

after recent winter rain (at 12 cfs). Before
the rain event there was no flow.
That's why its sad to see this water bypassing wetlands (to the left) ...
And escaping to tide down the canal instead.
The good news is that new culverts are planned for this stretch of road.
That will detour the winter rains back where it can soak in.
