Lots of water, but how deep?

Usually WCA3a is the deepest part of the glades.

Not this year.

This hydrograph displays a water depth comparison between the Water Conservation Areas and Everglades National Park (as measured in Shark River Slough). WCA2 has the largest annual range of all the areas whereas WCA1 is usually maintained at a steadier annual range.  WCA3 is not as deep as usual this fall.

Late season rains have flushed water into WCA1 and WCA2.

Meanwhile WCA3 is in the midst of a low year.

The result is that all three areas have similar depths (for now).
