Meteorologic false alarm

Every summer Naples gets a taste of Miami's morning rains.

I mistakenly thought that might happen today.

It's hard to see from this photo, but this morning there was an usual
long row of clouds lined up in what appeared to be a north-south
orientation on or alongside the beach.

Turns out the clouds were much farther offshore than they appeared.

That's surprising considering how huge they looked miles away.

Later in the day the normal afternoon rains sprung up.

That means Naples may get some early evening showers instead.
