Cold air isn't even close!

Fall hits the panhandle first (Oct 15th)

And Key West last, if at all.

This animated map shows the arrival
of average nighttime lows dropping
below 60 degrees.

The metric used in the map is arrival of average nighttime low temperatures dropping below 60° F.  Usually we get our first cold front before that in Naples Florida (Collier County) but it isn't until Thanksgiving that average nighttime lows finally dip below 60° F.  That's a far cry from up north of the continent where in many areas Labor Day marks the start of fall.

On the bright side at least we don't have to wait to the New Year!
