Season's worth of rain in one day?

This map shows the rain-derived rainfall totals for south Florida over the past seven days. However, the bulk of the rain occurred over the course of one twenty four hour period. Do you see the white blob between Ft Lauderdale and Palm Beach along the east coast? That spot got a full dry season's worth of rain (12-15 inches) in a single day.
