Winter waiting game

This calendar chart shows the complete history of cold nights in Naples Florida, 1941 to present.  Gray dots indicated nights that dropped into the 50s.  Green dots indicate nights that dropped into the 40s.  Blue dots indicate nights that dropped into the 30s, but above freezing.  Red dots indicate those rare nights that the low temperature hit freezing or below.  Can you see the dotted magenta line?  That's this year so far.  Can you see how it doesn't have any dots on it, too?  That indicates we are still waiting for our first "official" cold front.  Technically it doesn't count as an official cold front unless it registers two consecutive nights below 60° F.
