Calm waters (for now)

I called a meteorologist who had to cut the conversation short,

But what he said stuck in my head.

Gulf waters have been calm
like a lake for the past month

"Sixteen days out and we're heading for a train wreck."

"That far away?  How do you know?" He didn't have time to explain.


Apparently somewhere a butterfly is flapping his wings.

(Hopefully there's another one next to it canceling it out.)
