Hydrologic speeding

This buggy is going too slow:

Speed limit on Tamiami Trail is 60 miles per hour.

Traffic flow ontop Tamiami Trail
Contrast that to this freshwater right next to it:

It's going too fast.

Water flow under Tamiami Trail

At 4 feet per second (or in road travel lingo, 2.7 miles per hour) warp speed pace adds up to 33,000 acre feet of valuable freshwater wasted to tide per year.  The Big Cypress is in support of replenishing downstream estuaries: but as slow-as-molasses sheet flow across the landscape, not point discharge down a drainage canal.
