Bear over Gum Slough

As excited as I was to see birds over Gum Slough

Even more impressive was the time I saw a bear.

This bear was catching a breeze
on a muggy summer day
And yes, it was over Gum Slough, too ...

In a tree, a good twenty feet high.

Black bears climb trees, grizzlies do not! Learned that in Alaska this summer.
