No-vember Rain

The weather's been great ...

On the other hand, we could use some rain.

November skies are usually dry,
but this year takes the cake

This November is shaping up to by the least rainiest in modern memory.  I can't say dry (and thus say least rainy instead) because there's still wet season water on the ground ...

But slowly receding.

Perhaps December will bring us
a moisture-laden continental front (or two.)

Yup, it's November! Here' it's freezing! We aren't getting rain, but the beginnings of winter snows.
Do you remember the poem November by Thomas Hood? I think it fits the month.

November

No sun - no moon!
No morn - no noon -
No dawn - no dusk - no proper time of day.
No warmth, no cheerfulness, no healthful ease,
No comfortable feel in any member -
No shade, no shine, no butterflies, no bees,
No fruits, no flowers, no leaves, no birds -
November!

Thomas Hood
