So much water never moved so slow

Who says water control structures aren't scenic?

Here's a look at the upstream side of the S-12A, looking south.

How do you take a scenic picture
of a water control structure (S-12A)?

Answer: Pretty
 plants
in the foreground
doesn't hurt
And here's another shot at the same gate, from Tamiami Trail, looking north.

The sliver of green in the background is the southern end of Water Conservation Area 3A.  Water depths in its sloughs are currently 3.5 feet deep.

In this case, the vegetation
is in the background
That's why so much water is moving through the gate.

Granted, the gates are so long (six of them per structure) and the channel deep is deep so to the visual eye it looks rather slow.
