Who turned off the lights?

The rainy season starts like a flip of the switch,

And it ends the same way, too.

In a few short weeks, we'll be looking
at dry skies and asking ourselves:
"Who turned off the lights?"

On Memorial Day it gets flipped on,

Four months later, around Columbus Day, it gets shut off.

Unlike daylight savings, unfortunately, the length of the rainy season can't be adjusted. That's why I'm in favor of renaming south Florida's winter to "water conservation season" instead.
