Pond apple on tree (for now)

Hearing the "kerplunk"
is one of the swamp's
most coveted wet
season sounds

I've listed a web site below that describes the 4 "annonas" - or plants including Pond Apple and it's cousins - all edible (NOT the seeds of any) but the pond apple is BARELY edible and tastes awful. Do you ever see the sour apple, custard apple or sugar apple in the everglades? Supposedly some can be found around old homesteads.....
