When you look at a calendar-graph rendition of Collier County's KBDI value, the patterns really jump out. Most notable is summer, i.e. the wet season, when KBDI values remain low. Deep drought usually occurs in the spring, although not always. Can you see how a prevailing El Nino in 2019 kept the spring drought in check? Compare that to the spring before (2009) when deep drought plagued the county, as did wildfires, too.
