Destination hiker

Swamp hikes are notoriously slow.

Two hundred feet can feel like a country mile.

Fortunately there's lots to see with every step.

(And things you can't see like submerged cypress stumps.)

Hi Robert! Aren't there snakes and spiders and skeeters galore and other scary/yukky/pesty critters out there?

I've read about ranger tours through the swamp that sound fascinating, but the possibility of gator holes and such makes me nervous.
