Resurrection fern reassures pond apple

Summer rains have returned ...

But it's not wet everywhere yet.

Come summer in the swamp,
fallen pond apples usually make a splash.

For example, this fallen pond apple made a thud instead of a splash.

It's located north of Alligator Alley in Kissimmee Billy Strand, (see hydrograph).

The greened out resurrection fern (foreground)
reassures the pond apple forest (background)
that water is on the way

Not to worry, the nearby resurrection fern says its just a matter of time.

June is soaking in and "filling up" season in the swamp.

Interesting the form that seasons take depending on where you are. Water on its way here usually involves thunder and hail assaulting my tomatoes this time of year!
