Greetings from Gondwana?

What makes Florida unique from the rest of the United States?

Geographers will tell you it’s a peninsula.

Tourists have no geologic appreciation ...

Meteorologists may say it has only two seasons:

A summer wet season and a winter dry, compared to the rest of the contiguous states that have the traditional four.

Northerners of course will tell you it doesn’t have a winter.

But then again couldn’t we say the same for the American Southwest, too?

Florida rests on Gondwanan bedrock

I’m not a geologist, but I’m here to tell you the answer is this:

The rest of the United States is of Laurasian descent.

Only Florida can claim a Gondwanan birth.

Okay now you have me curious. You need a geology post.

Florida's geology is very interesting. Did you know it was where the term aquifer was originally coined?
