Desert in the swamp?

There's the dry SEASON ...

And then there's the DRY season.

Early March is usually the inflection point when the latter begins.

Blame it on the accumulative effects of no rain, cypress trees and other foilage coming back to life, longer daylight hours, and a higher and hotter sun.

The swamp can get downright desert-like in the spring.

Slight caveat:

We did just have a relatively big day of dry season rain, o.25 inches basin wide across the Big Cypress Swamp.
