Plant that couldn't tell a lie

This meteorology plant doesn't lie:

It hasn't rained in a long while.

Foreground: Resurrection fern in its most shriveled state
Background: pond apple swamp in January

Not surprising considering it's the dry season.

I tried to post this yesterday but it does not appear so here I go again.

I know that RF resurrects in 6 to 12 hours from withered grey to fully expanded green state. However I have bever kept careful track of how long it takes to go from fully hydrated green to dehydrated grey. What is your basis for saying it has been a long time since it rained.
