Transparent trees?

The trees are easy to see ...

Until they suddenly disappear.

Winter view of Big Cypress National Preserve

That happens sometimes when you're riding in a helicopter above the swamp on a winter day looking down.

Trees dissolve as the hydrology hops into view.

Pinelands are hills, cypress dome holes and cypress strands directional swales.

Then you blink and the trees reappear.

It's hydrologic harmony in the forested swamp.
