Plant breaks its own "cardinal rule!"

Cardinal air plant is red, right?

At least that's how it got its name.

Can you see the purple petals?
But the petals of its flowers are purple

The cypress in the background are knee deep.


October rains got the dry season off to a wet start!

What's really interesting is when you find a fma alba with yellow bracts and white flowers.

Interesting plants, epiphytes. This looks like a huge plant. The purple petals remind me of irises.

I've read about those, but have never seen one. And they are big, very easy to spot.
