They can't help it -- when they walk they flatten the emergent grass -- but the trails prove useful for them, too, as it routes food, i.e., fish, there way, potentially.
Didn't you show us YOUR trail a few entries back? LOL
Some trails have a look about them, as if to say, "Do Not Enter!" This was one of those.
You could be standing on top of a gator down there and not see him in some places ......
