Happy giant welk day!
Little welks don't fall far from the tree,
Or do I meant they grow like weeds?
Of course a watched welk seems stuck in time,
But then quick like lightning they are three times as big.
I'm not sure this has anything to do with welks.

The welk shells are very pretty, and they fit nicely into all of your metaphors!
I went to Jekyll Island, GA about a year and a half ago and we dug up about a half dozen various sized welks and threw them right on the grill and I ate one on a dare. Very sandy, very clammy, not horrible, but a little hard core!
