I've heard that before. Interesting how certain trees (lots of them pine) that need a good fire to open their seed cones, or help the growth along.
It's almost antithetical to the human eye, but the ecosystem depends on it. The regular fire regime also clears out the vegetation that over time without fire would crowd them out.
