Gator-friendly fishing hole

All the small domes have gone dry, right?

Not this one:
In late March it was crowded with fish ...

Thanks to a gator who wallowed out a deep hole.

I guess gators are good for something. Fishermen might enjoy the hole if they weren't worried about the gator taking offense.

I was wondering if there was a gator down there under the water? Sometimes they can make a cave with the cypress roots as a roof and the limerock as the base.

Just like beavers, gators change the environment and geology of where they live, it appears.

I'm surprised there are any minnows left in there. Perhaps it's the gator's larder!
