Maybe I'm in a minority - I think this is bad news because it's going to largely MISS us!!! I was hoping for a little more rain/water out of this one. Not on the scale of Faye, but maybe if we call Nicole names and are mean to her.... she'll "cry" on us a little more! LOL
You're right, some storms there's a fear factor, but with this one, as can be the case with the "wind poor" rain makers, there's a palpable sense of excitement in the air.
Here in Ochopee skies are scattered with bright blue between the clouds (and not raining). We're sort of on the fringe of it. South Florida wide it does look like we'll get our first Big Rain Day of the wet season out of it (i.e., a region-wide daily rainfall average of over 1 inch.)

Huge news, Tropical Nicole dissipated at 5 pm EDT. But rain totals are still up in the air.
Interesting. I can't recall hearing of a hurricane that dissipated so suddenly...
