This isn’t my best graph,
But it does prove a point:
Rainfall data is sloppy … and not just because it’s wet!
The truth is that on a basin by basin level (and especially one station to the next) rainfall can vary widely (and wildly).
Case in point is this winter’s East Broward tally:
It’s recorded 18 inches of rain compared to 11 inches “south Florida wide” since the start October.
As much as I’m a fan of "lumping" all fourteen basins into one big south Florida number (as shown above) …
Those are numbers that are pretty hard to swallow without a generous "dash of salt."
